What To Wear For Recruitment

Recruitment is quickly approaching, and planning is in full swing for our sororities and PNMs alike. We cannot wait to see each of our potential new members in the fall, and have been preparing for your arrival for months. Here are some guidelines and inspiration for your outfits for each round of recruitment. The most important thing to remember is to wear what makes you feel confident and comfortable! For more inspiration, please see our Pinterest account @AubPanhellenic.

Ice Water Teas Video:

As a part of your recruitment registration, you will submit a short video of yourself for our chapters to watch. When choosing what to wear in your video, remember that the frame will be horizontal and only show your top half. For this reason, we recommend a fun top or dress!

Kickoff and Ice Water Teas Round:

The attire for both Recruitment Kickoff and Ice Water Teas Round is come as you are. Kickoff is held in person to meet your Pi Chi, Pi Chi group, and learn about all things recruitment. The Ice Water Teas Round is held on ZOOM by your Pi Chi, and you will watch videos to learn more about each of our 18 chapters. For Kickoff and Ice Water Teas, many girls wear athleisure clothes and tennis shoes. You could wear a workout dress, tennis skirt, tank-top, t-shirt, and more. It truly is up to you, just prioritize what you feel your best in!

Philanthropy Round:

Philanthropy Round consists of 3 separate days, and is the first time you will step into the chapter rooms to learn more about our sororities. Panhellenic provides all PNMs with one t-shirt, and you may choose to purchase more when you register for recruitment. This is a more casual round so we recommend comfortable bottoms and shoes that help showcase your personal style! Most potential new members choose to wear a skirt or shorts, as it is quite hot in Auburn in August.  You will be standing quite a bit this round so make sure your shoes are ones you know will not cause blisters or pain. It is also important to remember that you will likely be sitting on the ground while watching videos or listening to chapter members speak, so wear bottoms you feel comfortable getting up and down in.

Sisterhood Round:

Sisterhood round is more formal than philanthropy, and really gives you the opportunity to showcase your style. You will have up to 3 days of parties, so plan accordingly. Wearing a dress that could be worn to church or a nice dinner is a common choice for this round. You can wear wedges or heels, but remember you will be standing for long periods of time so make sure they are comfortable. We recommend bringing an extra pair of comfortable shoes, such as slippers or sandals, to change into when you have breaks from parties.

Preference Round:

Preference round is the most dressy and serious round. This round, we recommend a dress that you could wear to a wedding or formal church. Many girls choose to wear black dresses, but this is NOT required for Preference! You can wear whatever best reflects you and your personal style. You will be sitting for the majority of this round, so you can choose to wear heels if you’d like.

Bid Day:

There will be lots of running around on this day, so we recommend sneakers! Athletic shorts and a tank top or athletic tee are best to wear as it will be hot outside. Once you run home, you will be given a jersey to put on on top of your outfit.

For more information on each round, check out our YouTube account Auburn Panhellenic where we will be posting content every week this summer! Again, remember at the end of the day the sororities want to get to know you and your heart. Dressing up for recruitment can be so fun, but it is not what is most important. Be yourself and you will end up right where you belong!

xoxo,
