*All PNMs should plan to be in Auburn by 5:00 pm to attend Recruitment kickoff.
Fall Primary Recruitment takes place the week before fall classes begin. It is a great way to meet all eighteen of our member groups. With timed rounds, invitation lists, and limits to the number of sororities a potential member might meet each round- it’s very structured, but it’s a great way to get a fresh look at all of our sororities before school begins. This is how 98% of our members join.
Primary Recruitment can seem very intimidating, but it is not at all. Through Primary Recruitment you are given the opportunity to meet eighteen different sororities and find the place that you will soon call home. Along the way you will meet many girls who are going through the same process and can relate to you. During this week, you are surrounded by people such as your Pi Chi who are constantly cheering you on and walking alongside you every step of the way.

Dear potential new members,
War Eagle, and welcome to Auburn University! Congratulations on taking the first step toward becoming part of something truly special. Whether you have been looking forward to recruitment for years or decided to register just recently, know that you are welcomed, valued, and supported by the Auburn Panhellenic community.
Recruitment is about more than finding a chapter. It is an opportunity to build meaningful connections, discover new opportunities, and learn more about the kind of Auburn Woman you aspire to be. As you move through this process, I encourage you to stay true to yourself, keep an open mind, and trust your instincts. Your recruitment experience is uniquely yours, and the best decisions are the ones that reflect your values, goals, and where you feel most at home.
The women of Auburn Panhellenic are united by a commitment to leadership, character, scholarship, integrity, and genuine sisterhood. Looking back on my own experience, I am incredibly grateful for the friendships, memories, and opportunities this community has provided me, and I hope this journey is just as empowering for you.
Most importantly, remember that you are not alone. Your Pi Chis, Recruitment Executive Board, and countless women across our community are here to support and encourage you every step of the way. Give every chapter and every conversation a genuine chance, embrace new experiences, and have fun throughout the process.

No. This is a time to assess whether you wish to pledge a sorority. Many women participate in recruitment to make friends, and to see why 48% of Auburn’s undergraduate women have chosen to be involved in the Panhellenic Community, and what has kept sorority alumnae active for years after their graduation.

Yes! The object of recruitment is to give yourself the information you need about the chapters in order for you to make the best decision; therefore, you must accept the maximum number of invitations your schedule can accommodate. If you choose to miss parties or accept fewer invitations than you could attend, you will greatly reduce your chances of joining a sorority.

Sorority chapters are composed of many individuals with their own special qualities and talents which contribute to the entire group. When deciding about a chapter, the only opinion that matters is your own. If you allow someone else’s perception to influence you, you will not be satisfied with your choices in recruitment. Each chapter of a sorority is different from campus to campus and from year to year. Remember that you are choosing a sisterhood, not a label.

Each sorority has its own definition of who their legacies are. It is OK to report any family relationships you want, but it is important to note that many legacy policies have changed. Please research updated legacy information by researching the sorority headquarters webpages.

Each potential member will have a different experience in each group, depending on who she meets and her personal preferences and personality. Ask yourself a few questions as you participate in recruitment: Are the members people you can truly see as your sisters? Are the goals of the organization similar to your own? A sorority should be a second home. The answers to your questions should guide you to the right group for you. Your Pi Chi will be of great help in sorting out what works best for you.

As your schedule of parties shrinks from round to round, so does the number of people each chapter is allowed to invite back each round. Every potential member has something to offer a group, but each group must release potential members, just as you may need to regret some chapter invitations. Each chapter uses a democratic process to make the decision of who to invite back.

If you receive a bid through Fall Formal Recruitment and decide not to accept it, you may not participate in recruitment until the next Fall Formal Recruitment, and you may not participate in Continuous Open Bidding. We urge you to think very carefully before turning down a bid. Emotions have a tendency to cloud thinking and judgment. Please give yourself and the sorority a chance to prove you made the right choice.

No! Each sorority has its own policy against hazing. Also, Auburn University has its own Hazing Policy that prohibits all forms of hazing. Auburn’s anti-hazing policy and information regarding reporting hazing can be found here.

Auburn University’s Panhellenic Council celebrated another historic year of formal recruitment, welcoming 2,153 new members into its 18 Panhellenic sorority chapters. With 2,352 women registered, Auburn once again ranks among the largest Panhellenic recruitments in the country—currently the fourth-largest nationwide—and leads the SEC in participation.
