What to Pack in Your Recruitment Bag

Recruitment is coming up quickly and Panhellenic could not be more overjoyed to welcome every Potential New Member! We are so excited for this year’s Recruitment, and can’t wait to meet you all in August.

With that being said, we have compiled a list of things that we recommend you bring with you during your recruitment process. Most of the items we suggest are most likely items that you already have, but if you don’t already own them, we promise they will come in handy again in the future!

These items are not mandatory by any means, but have been helpful for other girls during the Recruitment process in the past!

  1. A Good Bag: The first thing you’ll need is a tote bag large enough to carry everything you might need, but small enough to carry around comfortably. There is always a possibility of rain, so bringing a trash cover to cover your bag could be helpful! Many girls end up bringing the same bag so tying some kind of ribbon or scarf around your bag can help make your bag more identifiable!

  2. Mini Handheld Fan: It tends to get really hot and humid during the late summer in Alabama, and during Recruitment you will be standing outside a majority of the time! Amazon sells several great options for these fans!

  3. Blister Bandaids: During Recruitment, you will be standing and walking for long periods of time throughout the day. With that being said, blister bandaids often come in handy.

  4. Snack/Protein Bar/Water: Your Recruitment schedule might have multiple parties back to back and that can make it difficult for you to go and grab lunch or dinner. You want to make sure you stay energized and hydrated throughout the day, so it is a good idea to bring water bottles and snacks that can keep you nourished!

  5. Perfume, hairbrush, deodorant, and makeup: In between parties, you might have time to reapply the essentials to freshen up.

  6. Breath Mints: Mints will be your best friend during Recruitment between parties because you can freshen up without chewing gum during a conversation in a party.

  7. Sandals/ Flip-Flops: There may be a day you decide to wear heels with your outfit to a party, but after a while the heels could very well begin to hurt your feet. Bringing a pair of comfy sandals or even slippers can give your feet the opportunity to breathe.

  8. Rain Coat: As previously stated, it could potentially rain so it is never a bad idea to bring a rain jacket to protect your outfit and hair from the rain.
